My First Caucus

Last night I participated in Super Tuesday and went to my first Republican caucus.

It was really interesting, and not really what I expected. I had herd that in some caucuses if there weren’t enough votes for your candidate that the others present would try to persuade you to switch over to their candidate. That is not how my caucus worked.

It was rather fun though, There where quite a bit of people there it was really exciting to see how many people came out to cast in their voice. I actually did see quite a few people I know.

After we said the pledge of allegiance we split up into separate precincts signed in and voted for the nominee, then we picked delegates, and a covered a few other details, counted out our ballots wrote them on the form with the delegates, turned it in and went home. There were more than 20 people from my precinct there.

I can't remember the exact numbers it was like 5 votes for McCain, 3 or 4 for Paul, 4 for Huckabee and 10 for Romney. It was something like that; I wasn't the one in charge to counting the ballots. But I did sign up as an alternate delegate.

I think it would be fun to be an election judge, I decided to take an aplication form home. I'm anxtious to see how things will turn out.
