Abby's Twin Doll

During our Family trip to Colorado over the New Year Holiday "Mrs. Clause" took Abby to Toys R Us and we picked out the perfect doll for Abby. She is a perfect match, we call her Abby Junior. She came in a little tank dress that was rather too short to call a dress and yellow sandals. I had already purchased another out fit for her, Abby thought her clothes looked like she was in a swim suit (what a smart girl!).

I dressed them both up to match each other and did a little photo shoot.

On a side note I wanted to post a picture of the pretty doll I just bought for me! What some of you may not know about me (my family certainly knows this) I LOVE black dolls! I grew up playing with black dolls. My first one I got on my sixth birthday, My mommy sewed me a black Cabbage Patch, I still have her. When I was 5 years old my Mommy was pregnant with my little brother Jaren and when she announced it she said they didn't know if it would be a boy or a girl, it would be a surprise. Well in my 5 year old little mind I thought that meant she could have any baby black or white cause they didn't know what it would be, it was a surprise! I remember I was so excited about the possibility of mom having a black baby. She tried so hard to reason with me and explain that there was no way that the baby would be black, but I just kept saying "But you don't KNOW, it could be, it could be!" She tried telling me about genetics, and saying stuff like "but honey Mommy and Daddy are white and you need a black parent to make a black baby" that went way over my head and I didn't see how that had anything to do with it. So she gave me my very own black baby for my 6th birthday a couple weeks before my baby brother was born.
She is a beautiful 18" doll that was on sale to day for only $12!! I wasn't planing on buying her, because I'll never be able to brush her hair (that would ruin it) but she was so worth it especially at less than half the original price.

Oh Carianne she is beautiful!
All your dolls on this post are beautiful, yep all three!

I am so proud of you getting your own doll. I think getting a doll for me this year really bonded me to my little girls. They know a part of me is still a little girl too!

And just think you finally got some little brown babies of your very own!

I had to laugh when I read your post. My older sister was almost five when I was born. She was so hoping that I would be a black baby just like you. When I was born and of course white she decided that she would still pretend I was black. For my whole childhood she told me I was really black and my parents just painted me white at night. When I would get dirty it was just the paint coming off. Now it is a family joke. Iam really black but just get painted white at night.
