I’m back! Now that the yucky part of pregnancy is over, and winter in Evanston is over, and school is over, and summer is finally here, and my pregnancy is now in the energetic stage, life is good. Let the blogging resume! My pregnancy is going great! At 23 weeks, my little one is more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound (about as much as a large mango). Blood vessels in the lungs are developing to prepare for breathing, and his ears are increasingly picking up sounds preparing him for entry into the outside world (this pregnancy info is provided by BabyCenter.com). I love to feel my baby wiggle and kick, and he does it all the time. Last week I had an ultrasound. I love ultrasounds, I love seeing my little one and all the movements he makes, he had the hiccups and was very busy wiggling and kicking, it was just adorable. And as clear as clear could be, I saw that he was a boy, no doubt about it. After my appointment I took the ultrasound pictures home and handed them to Jason and let him see for himself and all the kids got to see. I showed them the ultrasound and pointed out one leg and then the other and then asked “what’s that there in the middle” and Zachary named the body part accurately in proper terms even (not the nick name pee pee that we normally use). The kids were pretty excited. Abby was a little disappointed because she really wanted a sister, and now she refers to the baby as “that boy baby in your tummy”.
